E. Jakarta Prepares Rp 400 B for Street Lamp Procurement

East Jakarta still lack of street lighting system (PJU) in the area. Now, only 40 thousand street lamps installed and spread in 10 sub-districts in 187.73 of square meter area. Ideally, there should be 91 thousand lamps to facilitate the road. Because of this condition, the area become prone of criminal action and traffic accident.
Tuti Kurnia, Head East Jakarta Industry and Energy Sub-Department, admitted her side needs additional 51 thousand lamps.
To solve this problem, her side plans to install 10 thousand lamps in 2015 and the rest in 2016.
Short Circuit Triggered 63 Percent of Fire Cases in West Jakarta"The lamp we instal next year is High Pressure Sodium (HPS) 70 watt type and Light-Emitting Diode (LED 40 watt type. Rp 400 billion is prepared for 51 thousand lamps," she said.
According to her, the LED procurement is more expensive than HPS. It means the procurement is done step by step.
"LED quality and maintenance is up to 4 years," she added.
